Sep 3, 2007 - Unbelieveably, cycling has suffered another extremely serious back injury. Just weeks after Stephen Murray suffered a life altering spinal injury, former BMX pro turned Mtn Bike champion Tara Llanes broke her back while competing in the Jeep King of the Mtn series in CO. Tara grew up right around the corner from Blue Room and was busy preparing for a run at the 2008 Olympic BMX Team. She needs us all and can be reached thru Tara Llanes Road To Recovery. We strongly urge you to step up and do whatever you can to help this young girl.

July 28, 2007 - Forget the mess known as the TdF for a moment - Fresh out of beautiful BC is a new - and returning - UCI BMX World Champion! Kyle Bennett (USA) - aka: Butter, for his smooth and seemingly effortless style - just grabbed his 3rd career pro elite rainbow jersey! July 12, 2007 - On this day 11 years ago, the bicycle business lost a giant and a best friend. June 26, 2007 - In news we hate reporting, it appears that BMX dirt jump champion and all-around great guy, Stephen Murray, has suffered a serious neck injury after a crash in last weekend's Dew Tour contest. Stephen (GBR) is SoCal resident and 2-time Gravity Games and 1-time X-Games past champion who is one of the most well-liked and respected riders out there. Mar 29, 2007 - Team Slipstream/Chipotle pro Brad Huff grabbed a huge bronze medal in the omnium at the UCI World Track Championships in Majorica, Spain today. The event is a cycling all-inclusive which tallys points in the 200M flying TT, 1K TT, 3K pursuit, 5K scratch race and 15K points race. Feb 26, 2007 - The second annual Amgen Tour of California concluded in Long Beach on Sunday, Feb 25 and after 8 days of spectacular racing from NorCal to SoCal, and in front of an estimated 1.6M spectators overall, the event can be considered nothing short of a resounding success. There is already talk of it increasing to 10 days in 2008, something both the riders and organizers would enjoy seeing. Feb 11, 2007 - Coming Feb 18-25 is the second annual Tour of California, an event that on one short year has separated itself from all others in the U.S., and many in the world. Beginning in San Francisco and making its way down the beautiful California coast to finish in Shoreline Village in Long Beach, the event covers eight days and will host some of the world's top cyclists, including all the of the primary Euro squads. Feb 9, 2007 - In the big business of sponsorship, all things must end and the Discovery deal is no exception. It doesn't mean that the team is kaput, but management will need to get a new sugar daddy before the fall. Depending on the environment, that may or may not prove easy. Oct 27, 2006 - One of the most accomplished BMX, DH and mtn bike gated-event riders of this era has moved into a new phase of his cycling career. Ex-GT and Haro pro Mike King has been hired is the new Brand Manager for Bombshell-Avent Cycles. Mike's experience in both racing and team management, along with his superior working knowledge of the industry should serve him well in this new role. Oct 22, 2006 - Michellie Jones, long one of the world's most successful short distance triathletes, took victory in famed Ironman Kona, HI over the weekend and in doing so, etched her mark forever in the Ironman distance discipline: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run. Michellie (mah-kee-lee), took the event in 9:18:31 and in doing so, must certainly be considered one of the greatest multi-sport athletes of all time. Oct 13, 2006 - Whether you think Floyd Landis did it or not, he has gone public with his Tour de France case in what has to be one of the most watched sports stories of the year. Floyd is one of the greatest guys in cycling and for those that know him, it is hard to fathom that there is any truth to the doping allegations.
